The company was founded by Henry Negretti and JW Zambra in April 1850 in London, UK as scientific instrument makers. They were listed as photographic apparatus makers from 1864. From the end of WWI they concentrated mostly on industrial and aeronautic equipment. In 1946 the company became private Ltd and went public in 1948. The business was acquired by Meggit Holdings in 1985. |
