American Optical Company was established in 1856, in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1865 American Optical acquired John Stock & Co. with the Nelson Wright Co (owner of the Harrison Camera Factory) and about the same time it moved the company sales office to New York. Later, in 1871 the company was sold to Scovill Manufacturing Co.. |
