Yashica-Mat TL camera

Postby rpcmd » Tue Nov 11, 2008 10:10 pm

Sirs:

Please advise as to the value of a YashicaMat twin-lens reflex camera, SN#64549, with 75mm f3.5 - f22 Lumax lens. Shutter speeds from B to 1/500sec. Copal MVX. No lens meter. Minimal wear evident but black leather-like material around lens area partially gone with surviving areas curled up. Appears to be in full working order, but hasn't been used for about 25 years.

Thank you.

Lumax or Lumaxar lenses? Lumaxar 75mm lenses were manufactured for almost than two years from 1957 to 1959. They could have been made in Germany. They could be somewhat rare, but not to the point to affect a camera value. $50-120, depends on the actual condition (probably needs CLA after 25 shelf years) and on the photos of this camera you'll make for eBay. Some cameras with lots of nice photos were sold for more than $200, but this is rare.
