Identification - Leica, Hammer & Sickle

Postby clumsyAF » Tue Jan 14, 2025 12:58 pm

I'm new to this website, and hope I don't make any mistakes. I recently inherited my families camera collection, and I'm trying to identify them for a household inventory. This is the one I am most curious about. (There was about 20 cameras, and I know nothing about them!)

Using GIS, I found it is possibly a Leica Fed-2, but no examples matched exactly, and it doesn't show in the identification list. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find more information? I believe my mom picked it up at an estate sale, but who knows. Thank you for any help.

It looks like a Fed-2 commemorative model or a copy of one (apparently, there are duplicates on the market made in more recent years).

Here's one that was sold on Etsy:
