Value of Rolleiflex

Postby heidip422 » Mon Jul 28, 2008 5:14 am

A relative recently gave me her Rolleiflex. I am interested in selling it to someone who could get some use out of it. I took it to my local camera shop and they indicated that the camera is in excellent condition. I am a novice at this, but here is the info that I have on it:
it is serial number 1418470. The dual lenses state: Tessar 1:3.5 f=75mm Carl Zeiss Jena Nr 3567006 (bottom lens). Upper lens says: Nr.307967Heidosmat 1:2.8 f=75mm. It has been kept in its case and also has a lens cover on it. I am interested in finding out the value of this. Help? Thanks!

Different sources suggest different models for this serial number:
Rolleiflex 3,5 A
Automat Rolleiflex Model 4
Rolleiflex MX (type 2)

In any case, if this one is in excellent condition, and doesn't need any lubrication or service, I think it's about $200-300. Will not make you rich, but will get you several tanks of gas ;)
Your best bet will be to take the best photos of the camera (close ups, through-lens, etc), and sell it on eBay.

Good luck!
