Just purchased mine in excellent condition on _bay for $178.00. Since the planet's financial condition took sick, the values for these cameras perhaps should be reevaluated.

Agree, but eBay prices are usually lower than auction or store ones. Also, eBay sellers often do not know how to grade the camera. Sometimes I see something like "excellent condition considering its age" which is totally unacceptable. The condition is either excellent or not, the age has nothing to do with this. This is one of the reasons we have to rely on the auction sales where the grading is more accurate.

I have to say, the average person can't afford or doesn't have the ability to grow a mustache, wear a top hat a suit and actually attend a formal camera auction and cough or twitch to signal secretly they wish to bid on an *ahem* camera. They have to brave the elements with the peasants, and their camera purchasing world is mostly _bay and perhaps a few other on-line camera dealers.

Yep. I was saying about camera grading mostly.
